Students will have opportunities to connect with faculty across the various disciplines in fine arts. Course topics, programming and special events will be geared towards developing a vibrant, cohesive, and diverse residential community for the arts. Connecticut Repertory TheaterCRT, part of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut, is the professional producing arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts. CRT stages an array of the best in theatre, from classic plays and musicals to premieres of the latest contemporary work, featuring some of the nation's finest theatre professionals on stage with the department's most promising students. The synergy between professionals and advanced student artists creates extraordinary theatre and a unique learning environment. von der Mehden Recital Hallvon der Mehden Recital Hall is the home of nearly one hundred twenty concerts presented annually by the faculty, ensembles, students and guests of the Department of Music. Benton Museum ExhibitionsThe Benton’s contribution to the University-wide “Year of Science 2009” celebration is an exhibition that chronicles the history of medical illustration through a selection of prints, drawings, computer graphics and animation from the 16th century to the present. Each piece articulates a unique union of art, anatomy and medicine, the works together reflecting the ways that union has evolved over the centuries and continues to thrive in an era of digital photography and 3-D imaging.
