Welcome
to ITL
The Institute for Teaching & Learning, created in 1996, provides pedagogical and technology support for faculty, graduates, and undergraduate students in a wide variety of ways. It is primarily located in the Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE) at the Storrs campus and comprises 10 units, namely:
From individual consultations to a broad range of seminars and workshops, the ITL provides services to members of the UConn community at all campuses. All the high-technology and distance learning classrooms are maintained by our technicians and guidance on curriculum design and delivery is provided by the IDD group. Walk-in or By-appointment help is offered on HuskyCT, ePortfolio, and a range of other instructional techniques in the IRC. Media support, from posters to video, for classroom instruction can be created within the MD and G&P units. Faculty Learning Communities and book reading groups supplement more formal support for faculty while the Learning Resources Center, Q and W centers help students with their studies in both academic and technical areas. At one end of the age range we support the design and delivery of General Studies courses for adult learners while ECE students take UConn courses at their high schools.
All members of the University should feel comfortable in calling the ITL for support. We communicate by email, phone, and fax but we would always prefer to see you in person. Please call in to see us in the CUE.
