individually or in combination to provide a course of study
tailored to meet the needs of each student;

ESL for Specific Purposes (ESP) - A Program Designed for the Business Community
The primary goal of the English as a Second Language for Specific Purposes (ESP) Program is to help employees develop their functional skills and increase their speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities in a specific work environment. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation from the University of Connecticut.
ESP provides customized, cost-effective training for employees on-site at their company. Courses are designed for a variety of professions and tailored to meet the needs of a specific company or organization.
If existing programs are not suitable for your particular business, UConn's Center for Continuing Studies will develop a program customized to meet your specific needs. For more information, please call the American Language Program office at 203-251-8511.
